Beautiful performance by Sting in Venice: the most typical venetian setting, even with high water and half of the public having their feet in the water! (Luckily not myself)
There was a special guest at the concert, Sting’s son Joe Sumner, who performed his own song.

Beautiful background, the city of Venice is so amazing that it’s architecture and urban planning is really unbelievable.

Astonishing for visitors but troublesome for local workers… this is how you get the grocery home:

How could I not post about Rome in a travel blog, the eternal city, one of the wonders of the world, one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. Although I am Italian and pretty used to “old stuff” and ancient buildings, Rome is always unbelievable. Driving around the Colosseum really makes you feel like being in a movie.

Thanks to an American colleague of the IADIS conference I discovered the beautiful church of Trastevere, and enjoyed a tartufo in Piazza Navona, thanks to the suggestions by a professor from Australia. Then together with Margaret from Singapore and Loredana from Rome we had a truly international apero at Gusto, near piazza di Spagna!

Neuchâtel

I left Lugano under a storm which made all my cloths and papers completely wet… and I arrived in Neuchâtel for a meeting in a fantastic location, the hotel Beaulac, right at the lake. Definitely worth the trip. I was so lucky to get a huge room with this view:

I love the glass balconies, I could even spot a fish swimming while I was sitting here having coffee!

Neuchâtel is a tiny city in the French speaking part of Switzerland, with a very long promenade along the lake.

Lake Garda is still angry after the storm: the water has an unusual brownish color and the air is fresh, too fresh for July.

This is via Paolo Sarpi in Milan, also known as Chinatown. I was pretty surprised to find so many Italian flags!
