Music fountains in Barcelona
July 25, 2009 at 6:27 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentBarcelona is always beautiful, especially in summer time. It’s very crowded, lively, fun, easy going… the perfect place to enjoy a weekend.
There is so much to see, it’s the second time I visit it but still many places and museums to discover.
In this picture the amazing music fountains of Plaça d’Espanya, it’s absolutely a must to see! They start at sunset and run a light and sound show for about an hour.
The Rambles is always the top tourist attraction, but the Barcelloneta seems to attract all the locals during summer holidays, and for good reasons: big beaches, nice cafes, long walks, palm trees and typical spanish athmosphere.
Parc Guell is also one of my favorite place in the city, especially because it’s free. It’s a wonderful example of how Gaudì integrated in harmony hand made constructions with nature, in a unique artistic way.
Barcelona
July 16, 2009 at 1:18 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI’m back to good old Europe for a conference, the IV09 (Information Visualization) where I presented my work this morning.
Luckily the conference is in one of my absolute favorite cities… Barcelona!
The Sagrada Familia is still there, still beautiful, still unfinished, so it gives us a reason to go back again and again to see Gaudì’s masterpiece.
New Xtreme SkatePark in Singapore
July 9, 2009 at 10:53 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI love Singapore East Coast park every day more and more!
They just opened the “Xtreme SkatePark” a facility with ramps for so called extreme skate and bicycle performances.
Today it was already quite crowded, also with several western teenagers… maybe I’m too old for this kind of stuff…
Skating
July 4, 2009 at 2:02 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentThis weekend I had very good time skating with my new friends from NUS, all PhD students at the department of Information Systems. They came to enjoy east coast park for skating and the beach; we also had some nice Hong Kong food together that actually tasted quite Italian, at my surprise (rice, fish and fresh tomato sauce with herbs).
