Croatia
January 26, 2008 at 11:00 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsContinuing at fast pace my tour around the world, last weekend I’ve been to Croatia! It was quite a crazy week: saturday I was in Hawaii, Sunday in San Francisco, Monday in Italy, Thuesday in Switzerland, then Saturday all the way driving through Slovenia down to Rovinj in Croatia…………………. crazyyyyyy
However even in January those little towns on the sea are beautiful and pictorsque. I spotted several sea stars in the port, so clean is the water. We also went to Pula and saw its impressive roman anphiteatre and other monuments.

HICSS conference
January 11, 2008 at 3:28 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAloha everybody, I’m now at the conference, at Hilton Waikiloa resort, which is an impressive resort, it’s so huge that there are train and boat rides inside the hotel! Yestertday i even saw a seal and two turtles inside the bay of the resort! The place is really incredible because outside the ouasis of this resort there is just lava all around for tens of kilomiters, it feels like we are on the moon! Inside the resort there are also swimmingpools with dolphins, but of course you have to pay some extra (well you have to pay extras for everything, to be honest!). In the area there are also beautiful beaches, but only a few with sand (majority are with lava rocks).
Unfortunately my holidays are almost finished, so last Aloha from Hawaii.
Aloha!!!

I spend new years eve in Kailua-Kona, the main turistic spot of the big island, by some friends’ friends, looking at the fireworks of the bay, it was beautiful and relaxing. The weather was not so good but the scenaries of hawaii are really awesome. We also visited the Akaka falls, Hilo and an impressive Volcano park: from the hotel we could see the smoke coming out from the volcano caldera, and we drove all arond the craters, passing with the car throu the recent lava eruptions (last in year 2000) and then through the rain forest… it really seemed to be on Mars!
Now I’m enjoying the most famous hawaian beach: Waikiki (quite similar to California), watching small surfers and the great variety of human nature that can be found in such a small place (japanese, polinesians, europeans, americans, chinese, vietnamese…..).
Aloha.
