Social network analysis
September 22, 2007 at 7:10 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsIn the last days i attended a doctoral course on social network analysis, it was really cool to see how this techniques works and what kind of incredible stuff you can get from it. Here a pic of our group work:
We analyzed if the number of interaction between people in an organization is related with the educational level (if there is more cohesion between groups of people with the same education). Can you interprete the results?
The pink are people with phds, so there is no cohesion in general exept for the people who have a phd, they are interacting much more among themselves (and themselves only).

Austria
September 10, 2007 at 11:55 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsLast week I was in Graz, and during the I-know conference gala dinner somebody took a picture of my skirt and put it on flickr hi hi
After the conference I couldn’t loose the chance of a touristic weekend in the amazing city of Vienna… it’s just gorgeous! Absolut fascinating city, and the Schoenbrunn castle alone is worth the trip. I vote it the most beautiful castle (+ gardens) ever, although it’s not on a scenic mountain like Neuschwanstein.
The pope also managed to be in the hearth of Vienna when I was there, very good timing, so I could see him! Well, “see” maybe it’s an euphemism, but I was there! I have a picture to prove it!! The pope should be that tiny tiny red dot in the middle of the picture

September 6, 2007 at 1:32 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsHello from Graz, here some pictures from this very nice Austrian city. The I-know conference is interesting, I presented my research and everything is good. However the main topic of the conference seems to be semantic web and web 2.0.
The most unique thing in this city is here in the picture, it’s called Murinsel, an island in the river Mur, which is an artificial island-cafe in the middle of the river, very cool idea
