Swiss summer school

Despite I just started to attend the SUMMER school, the weather has decided that it’s already November. I’ve never seen so much continuous rain in Lugano… must be the global warming?? Mmm… looks like this year I have no chance to wear my summer cloths! The good side is that it’s a good weather for motivating to study and attend all the interesting methodological classes. This kinda support my opinion that southern countries are less productive – in general – because when the weather is good you prefer to spend more time to enjoy life instead of working ;-)

In today’s lectures, our professor showed us this hilarious video about the introduction of computer based elections in the US:

Today is the 60th anniversary of India independence. Many newspapers are dedicating special attention to the incredible economic growth and development of this amazing country. I find interesting to hear the Indian side, on the newspaper The Hindu, an article by nobel prize Amartya Sen.

Belgrade

I spent my summer holidays in Serbia, visiting Aleksandra for 8 days. It has been a great trip, much over my expectations. Belgrade is a beautiful city, in very mediterranean style, full of fancy bars, shops, nice people, parks and even an (artificial) lake. Aleksandra has been wonderful to organize the trip for us, a busy plan for every minute of the week, and so we could discover this little known country. We had nice adventure, including a trip to the mountain in the tickest fog I have ever seen, relaxing on the floating bars on the river, the braking down of the car of our escorted tour to Novi Sad :-) , meeting Aleksandra’s friends, and even a night cruise on the Danube!
And it was also quite cheep and out of main turistic routes, so I strongly suggest anyone to visit Belgrade!
